INTRODUCTION
The Centre for Solid Waste Management Studies provides training to all Engineers, Health Inspectors, Assistant Engineers, Assistant Health Officers, Public Health Assistants, Administrative Assistants, and General Assistants in Federal, State, and Local Authority (PBT) agencies related to the field of solid waste management. This study centre provides theoretical and practical training with the aim of enabling participants from every agency to practise the knowledge acquired and apply it in their respective agencies. The modules implemented are based on core duties, in line with current developments in solid waste management which are becoming increasingly complex and dynamic. Theoretical exposure and hands-on solid waste management sessions can further enhance the quality of solid waste management in line with current needs and demands.
OBJECTIVE
- To enhance knowledge and provide exposure to PBT members and other related agencies regarding solid waste landfill engineering knowledge.
- To understand the technical aspects that require attention in selecting suitable methods for adapted technologies.
- To share information regarding future green technology.
- To establish networking among attending participants to facilitate the exchange of experiences and working methods between one PBT agency and another.
- To ensure participants are skilled in managing projects. This encompasses contract administration, construction, pre-contract, and post-project stages.
- To create a technical workforce that is competent and skilled according to their respective disciplines in project management.
- To share the latest practical methods and technologies in national solid waste management.
- To understand current policies and legislation in the handling of national solid waste management.
- To gain hands-on exposure to the handling of the latest national solid waste management technologies from operators or involved parties.
