Basic Skills and Knowledge Course for Executing Duties as an Investigating Officer
I-KPKT, under the Centre for Legislative Understanding and Enforcement Studies, organised the Basic Skills and Knowledge Course for Executing Duties as an Investigating Officer. This course was delivered by the Assistant Legal Officer of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Mr Mohd Irwan bin Mat, assisted by Mr Muhammad Aiman bin Maarof, Head of the Centre for Legislative Understanding and Enforcement Studies, who acted as the moderator.
Course Objectives
This course was held to provide knowledge on the fundamentals of the duties of an investigating officer in Local Authorities (PBT). At the end of the course, participants are expected to be able to:
- List the roles of an investigating officer in the preparation of investigation papers.
- Identify the differences between a PBT Investigating Officer and a Police Investigating Officer.
- List the essential documents and matters that must be included in an investigation paper.
Attendance and Response
This four-hour course received a highly encouraging response with the attendance of over 350 participants comprising staff from Local Authorities across Malaysia as well as relevant government agencies.
