Cultivating Green Practices: I-KPKT Staff Unite to Conduct Recyclable Materials Collection Drive
To support environmental conservation and instil sustainable practices within the workplace, the Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT) conducted a Recyclable Materials Collection Drive on Friday, 30 October 2026. This internal awareness initiative commenced at 10.00 am, centred at the Level -2 car park area of the I-KPKT Building.

The initiative aimed to facilitate staff in channelling recyclable items collected from their offices and households, thereby preventing reusable materials from being discarded directly into landfills. Through this concerted effort, a substantial volume of materials, including plastic beverage bottles, waste paper, and cardboard boxes, was systematically gathered.

Engagement Highlights and Staff Collaboration
Staff members across various divisions and units demonstrated high environmental consciousness to ensure the success of the collection drive:
- Direct Collection at the Car Park Area: Officers brought packages of recyclables directly to the Level -2 car park before consolidating and organising them according to established guidelines.
- Reinforcing Waste Segregation Procedures: Duty personnel and staff representatives displayed colour-coded waste segregation guide posters to strengthen understanding of the importance of disciplined separation at source (SAS).
- Logistics Coordination and Loading: All collected bags of recyclable goods were cooperatively loaded into the I-KPKT departmental van for handover to a registered recycling management entity.
The implementation of this activity reflects the commitment of I-KPKT personnel to embedding green habits in the workplace, aligning with the aspirations of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) to establish a clean, sustainable, and environmentally responsible community ecosystem.
