Best Innovation Exhibition Booth Competition in Conjunction with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Innovation Day Celebration 2026

The Greenovasi Team from the Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT) was selected to participate in the Best Innovation Exhibition Booth Competition held in conjunction with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Innovation Day Celebration 2026 on 30 September 2026 at the Crystal Hall Foyer, KPKT.

Through the project titled “Green Innovation in Road Construction: Utilising Single-Use Plastic Waste as an Additive Material”, I-KPKT’s Greenovasi Team highlighted an innovative approach supporting the circular economy agenda through the reuse of single-use plastic waste as an additive material in road construction.

Plastic waste was collected through Separation at Source (SAS) practices among I-KPKT personnel alongside a Plogging Programme at Sepat Beach, Kampung Cherok Paloh, Kuantan. Collection data was recorded using the Greenovasi Tracker smart application, which enhanced recording efficiency by reducing plastic waste weight recording processing time by up to 75%.

The collected plastic waste was subsequently mechanically processed and blended into the premix asphalt for use in a pilot road paving stretch spanning approximately 90 metres at I-KPKT.

This initiative reflects I-KPKT’s commitment to cultivating green innovation, empowering circular economy practices, and exploring the potential of sustainable plastic waste reuse.
