Departmental Social Media Management Course: Towards More Effective Social Media

The Departmental Social Media Management Course: Towards More Effective Social Media was successfully conducted from 3 to 5 August 2026 at the Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT). A total of 23 participants attended the course, which aimed to enable officers to understand concepts, strategies, and best practices in managing departmental social media professionally and effectively.

Through knowledge sharing, practical training, and exposure to digital content creation techniques, participants were able to plan, produce, and manage high-quality social media content to enhance public engagement. Participants were also exposed to methods for handling communication and current issues more effectively, alongside leveraging social media analytics to strengthen information delivery and organisational image.

It is hoped that the implementation of this course will produce a cadre of more competent officers in managing departmental social media platforms, in line with the digitalisation agenda of the public sector.
