Tree Preservation Order (Act 172) Course

The Centre for Law Understanding & Enforcement Studies at the Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT) organised a course on Tree Preservation Orders (Act 172) on 25 February 2025. This course was conducted online and was attended by staff from Local Authorities (PBT) and relevant government agencies from across the country.
The course was organised in collaboration with the Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia). The course speaker was Mr Mazlan Bin Mohd from the Planning Regulatory Division of PLANMalaysia.

This course was held to expose participants to the importance of tree preservation and the tree preservation order based on the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172), as amended in 1995 [Act A933]. The ultimate aim of the course was to provide an understanding of the implementation and enforcement of this law at the Local Authority level.
