Opening Ceremony of the Solid Waste Management Intellectual Course (SOSMIC) 2026
A paradigm shift in driving the transformation of the nation’s solid waste management sector!
On Wednesday, 22 April 2026, the Opening Ceremony of the Solid Waste Management Intellectual Course (SOSMIC) took place at the Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT), Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. This programme was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. M Noor Azman bin Taib, Secretary General of KPKT .
💡Why is SOSMIC Important?
SOSMIC is the first intellectual course in the field of solid waste management and public cleansing in Malaysia, developed through a strategic collaboration between:
- National Solid Waste Management Department (JPSPN)
- Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp)
- Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT)
This high-impact initiative focuses on enhancing the professionalism of licence holders, strengthening legal understanding, and reinforcing industry standards in line with Act 672 and the Malaysia MADANI aspiration.
