Sabah State Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Basic Operations and Mapping Course

The Sabah State Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Basic Operations and Mapping Course was successfully conducted from 19 to 21 May 2026 at the Sabah State Town and Regional Planning Department. A total of 25 officers, comprising technical staff from the Sabah State Town and Regional Planning Department, attended this course, which aimed to provide an understanding of the processes and utilisation of drones in executing physical planning, as well as exposing participants to pre-flight drone activities.

Through this course, participants gained an understanding of the basics of UAV operations and high-quality data processing, alongside practical training for real-world applications in the field. It is hoped that the conduct of this course will open up opportunities for participants to explore more efficient new mapping methods, while strengthening the department’s technical capabilities in supporting the digitalisation and smart development agenda of Sabah State.
