EXECUTIVE TALK COURSE: LANDSCAPE MASTER PLAN (LMP) TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT IN MALAYSIA
The Centre for Landscape Management Studies, Housing and Local Government Training Institute (I-KPKT), organised the Executive Talk Course: Landscape Master Plan (LMP) Towards Sustainable Landscape Development in Malaysia on 25 March 2025 via an online platform.
Two speakers were invited to share their knowledge and experience with the participants. The speakers were:
1. Mrs Aliza Azlin Bt Md Dzulkifli, Senior Assistant Director/Landscape Architect from the Landscape Development Division, National Landscape Department.
2. LAr. Mr Mohd Fadhli bin Abdul Manaf, Director/Landscape Consultant from Mensayu Sendirian Berhad.
The Landscape Master Plan (LMP) is a written statement document containing landscape development planning that includes medium and long-term action plans for a 10-year period for a Local Authority (PBT) area. This ‘Executive Talk’ series session was held to discuss the importance and role of the Landscape Master Plan (LMP) as a tool in the process of comprehensive, sustainable, and efficient landscape development planning within the context of overall infrastructure development in Malaysia.
The session reviewed the achievement and effectiveness of landscape development implementation based on guidance from the LMP document, whether prepared through allocations from the National Landscape Department (JLN) or through the PBT’s own allocation initiatives.
Participants were also exposed to methods for obtaining quality study results and LMP documents based on site potential and key study inputs within PBT areas. This is to ensure efficient landscape development planning in line with changing technological and digital trends, while also referring to the National Landscape Policy and current government policies.
The course was conducted online and was attended by 145 participants from PBTs and involved agencies. The main objectives of this course implementation were to:
i. Expose participants to the characteristics of obtaining quality study results and LMP documents based on site potential, in line with changing technological and digital trends, while referring to the National Landscape Policy and current Government policies.
ii. Observe the achievement and effectiveness of LMP study implementation, whether funded through National Landscape Department allocations or self-initiated through PBT allocations.
It is hoped that the participants can apply the knowledge and insights gained from this session.
