Centre for Landscape Management Studies

INTRODUCTION

The Centre for Landscape Management Studies provides training in the field of landscaping to Local Authorities (PBT) as well as civil servants from public sectors/agencies related to landscape architecture and horticulture, specifically those in the Grade J and Grade G service schemes. This study centre provides theoretical and practical training with the aim of enabling participants from every PBT to practise the knowledge acquired and apply it in their respective PBTs. The modules implemented are specifically focused on landscape management and maintenance, in addition to providing exposure regarding duties and responsibilities related to landscaping and horticultural works to those with less skill and knowledge in this field. Theoretical exposure and hands-on landscape management sessions can enhance the quality of landscape management and maintenance, and indirectly assist in reducing PBT maintenance allocation costs.

OBJECTIVE

  1. To enhance the understanding, knowledge, skills, and expertise of course participants involved hands-on in carrying out the roles and functions of planning, implementation, development, maintenance, and regulation of landscapes.
  2. To ensure landscape management and maintenance are always at a high benchmark and satisfy the PBT community.
  3. To assist PBTs in planning and generating development and maintenance allocations for landscape and horticulture more systematically and efficiently.
